Connect with nature, art, and community through hands-on creative experiences at Blooming Diversity.
Explore the infinite textures, patterns, and forms found in the woods. In these sessions, we work directly with natural materials, using techniques like cyanotype, spore casting, botanical printing, and illustration, to transform natural elements into lasting artwork by Milena asquez.
We will continue to be fascinated by fungi! This time, we’ll work with photographs you took on the walks, dried mushrooms I’ve collected for us during our adventures, spore prints, illustrations, pressed botanicals, and other objects for composition.
What you’ll learn: The origins and history of cyanotype in art and architecture, plus everything I’ve learned in 5 years of experimenting with botanicals and sun printing.
Creative space: We will discuss art as a tool for grieving and meditation while enjoying an afternoon of creativity, community, and love for fungi.
What you'll take home: 3 unique cyanotype art prints plus 1 larger masterpiece.
No experience necessary: This is a very playful, fun, and experimental technique!
