26 April cSPACE Marda Loop
This show reflects the deep connections between women, creativity, and the natural world.
Three artists: Maya Corona, Ariadna Sly, and Mile Vásquez, come together to share work rooted in Alberta’s landscapes, shaped by meaningful conversations in the wild, and inspired by the strength of community. We celebrate diversity, resilience, and our bond with the land through visual arts, mixed media, and creative expression.
Each piece captures a moment of connection between the artists, ourselves, and the landscapes that shape us. This exhibition invites you to explore, connect, and rediscover the joy of the outdoors just beyond our doorsteps. It serves as a reminder that we grow—through adventure, art, and each other.

She is a Calgary-based visual artist who specializes in photography and mixed media to express her emotions and explore connections.
Her work is deeply influenced by her family memories and her Bolivian heritage, particularly drawing inspiration from her late father, a renowned botanist.
By focusing on Western Canadian flora and landscapes, she reconnects with her roots. She has found healing through her bond with nature, which has led her to create community initiatives.
One such project, "Blooming Diversity," fosters connections among women from diverse backgrounds, allowing them to explore nature, create art, and support one another through life's challenges.
Maya Corona's inspiration comes from the bold women in her life, the natural world, and the endless possibilities of human imagination.
Her work invites introspection and spreads positivity through vibrant compositions of women embodying confidence, animals radiating joy, and nature grounding us in its beauty.
Each piece reflects her inner world—exploring growth, connection, and dreams. Her process blends abstract shapes with layered colour and texture, shaped by her curiosity and influenced by abstract expressionism, modern fauvism, and digital art.
Her preferred mediums are watercolour, acrylic, charcoal, and inks. Maya pushes the boundaries of traditions using digital art and evolving technologies.
Ariadna is originally from Argentina. She explores femininity through the lens of Latin poetry, celebrating the strength and vulnerabilities of women's bodies in connection with nature.
When women unite to explore the natural world, we experience a magical vibrancy that inspires my artwork. This collection captures those enchanting adventures and shared memories.
Ariadna's artistic expression comes from a deep bond with nature. She absorbs the beauty and energy by immersing herself in forests, mountains, lakes, and rivers. Leaving behind urban life, we delve into nature, allowing our feelings to flow and transform into profound art that resonates with our shared experiences.

The Blooming Diversity show was wonderful
I'm so glad I made the trip to Calgary to attend. The gallery space was impressive and I was wowed by the diversity of artwork and creative expression. I found the story behind the artwork deeply moving - how these Latin artists explored their local environment and nature as a way of place-making and creating a sense of home. It was a magical evening, and I'm looking forward to the next event. Highly Recommend!

This art show
was a delight
I attended the Blooming Diversity exhibit in Fall 2023 and was delighted to see all the different ways that the artists are engaging and expressing their connection to nature in their art. Through the artist's eye, we are able to see intimate details of nature that are often fleeting or perhaps distant in a city life. Working together, these artists have created a community that welcomes in community."

A display of creativity, unity & beauty
Blooming Diversity 2023 was an absolute display of creativity, unity and beauty. Giving a remarkable honour to the name of the event by having such an array of artists together, each and everyone of them with such a diverse technique and yet one thing in common: Life. I felt refreshed and enormously inspired, almost did not want to leave the event. I can't wait to see Blooming Diversity 2024. See you all there! ❤️
